Commander weekly report.

Commander is gaining popularity and Kaboom is here to help fill that necessary need.

Wednesday night had our largest gathering yet of General oriented players. Traveling from afar to play we had quite the crowd.

Dark Ascension Prerelease sealed deck tournaments saturday Jan 28th @ 12noon and 6pm. We will be open at 11am. Sunday is possible depending on product allocation and turnout.

Kaboom Magic weekend recap

So Magic the Gathering was in full effect this weekend. Here are some of the juicy details.

Saturdays Commander:
We had Sharuum, Sliver Overlord, Scion, Kemba, Bosh, Arcum Dagsson, Sharuum, and Rubina. Pod 1 Winner: Jason Hammack with Kemba and 2nd place was Matt Wetherholt with Rubina. Pod 2 Winner: Josh Wienckowski with Arcum Dagsson and 2nd place was John Meyer with Sharuum. Overall winner for the afternoon was Jason Hammack.

Sunday Type II:
We had a good turnout for Sunday. (must be football haters) Top 4 decided to split so there was no clear cut winner for the day. The top 4 decks were Bant Agro played by Kevin Martin, Hunter Reckenberger used Blue/White Delver, Stefan Eversoll played Black/Blue Control, and Jack Fisher ran a Blue/White Illusions.

Magic Type II Tuesday. Right Here!

Kaboom will be holding Tuesday night Type II Magic the Gathering tournaments starting this week.
So if your jonesing for some extra Magic time we are here to help.

Start Time: 6:30pm
Cost: $5 per person
Prize: 1 pack per person plus additional packs put into pool.

FNM @ Kaboom 1/13/12

We always have FREE fun on Friday nights here at Kaboom! How do we do that? FNM and the NO FEE JUST FUN program.  We hand out FNM cards, DCI promos, and punch your NO FEE JUST FUN card so everyone gets something. Coming in 2012 even more cool options with our NO FEE JUST FUN program so stay tuned.

Top 4 decks this evening: Blue/White Puresteel, Blue/White Delver, Black/Red Vampires, Mono Black Infect.

For those that did not top here is a smattering of decks that were played: White Weenie, Mono Red, Black/Blue Control, Blue/White Illusions.  THANK YOU to all the players that attended. We hope you enjoyed your time at Kaboom and look forward to seeing you back real soon for some of our other Magic events.

Kaboom will be having a Commander tournament today, January 14th.  Start time is 2PM with an entry fee of FREE.  I will also have a Booster Draft tournament today.  Start time is 5PM with and entry fee of $10.00.  If you have any questions feel free to contact Kaboom for more details.

Sunday January 15th Kaboom will be hosting A Magic the Gathering Type 2 tournament.  Start time is 2PM with an entry fee of $5.00. The more that show up to play the more stuff that is given out!!!

Thursday January 19th Kaboom will be hosting a Magic the Gathering Booster Draft tournament.  Start time is 6:30PM with an entry fee of $12.00.  Prize support based on number of players that attend!!!!!!

Magic THROWDOWN III: COMING SOON!!!!! Sunday, February 12th.  (FREE ENTRY WITH A CHANCE TO WIN A BOOSTER BOX!!!)

Dark Ascension Pre-Release: Saturday, January 28th Seal Deck format start time is 12 NOON!!!!  We will also host a second Sealed Deck tournament at 6 PM!!!!  Entry fee is $25.00 for each event.

STAR CITY IQ: We have scheduled our next Star City IQ for Sunday March 18th. (Start making your plans to attend!!)

Dark Ascension Prerelease closing in!

Dark Ascension is coming. Zombies, Vampires, and Werewolves dominate the landscape. Scary stuff!!

Join us for our sealed deck prerelease weekend Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th. We have 2 tournaments scheduled for Saturday with Sunday being a possible overflow if enough product is left.

WE WILL BE OPEN AT 11am on SAT

Saturday start times:12am and 6pm

Commander Reporting In

Our Open Play (read Commander) had a large crowd last night. The 15 generals that attempted to show their aptitude for battle were: Zedru, Dralnu, Kaalia, Korlash, Scion, Rubinia, Kemba, Sliver Overlord, Wort, Omnath, Intet, Elesh, Ezuri, LaSalle, and Drana.

Pod 1 Winner: Nathan using Korlash
Pod 2 Winner: Michael running Intet
Pod 3 Winner: Ryan playing Scion
Pod 4 Winner: Thomas abusing his Sliver Overlord

Our overall Patton for this evening was Michael with Intet.

FNM @ Kaboom 1/6/12

The first FNM of 2012 is behind us now!!!!  What an AWESOME turnout!!!!!  Thank you to everyone that came out!!!!
