I would like to say good luck to all the Kaboom players that playing in Richmond today!!!!!

We always have FREE fun on Friday nights here at Kaboom! How do we do that? FNM and the NO FEE JUST FUN program.  We hand out FNM cards, DCI promos, and punch your NO FEE JUST FUN card so everyone gets something. Coming in 2012 even more cool options with our NO FEE JUST FUN program so stay tuned.

Today is also the Release/Launch Party for Dark Ascension.  Format will be Sealed Deck start time is 3PM with an entry fee of $25.00.   I will also have a Booster Draft tournament today.  Start time is TBD with and entry fee of $10.00.  If you have any questions feel free to contact Kaboom for more details.

Well the Dark Ascension Prerelease weekend is in the books. Hope everyone had a good time checking out the new set.

We will be having a Midnight Prerelease tournament for Avacyn Restored. Your host will be Tseng for this interesting event. Stay tuned for more details.

Saturday was a busy day for players and the store. We had a good turnout but would like to see more players for 2013 and Avacyn come their release. Monsters did not have the greatest showing as there were always more humans left than turned. Bad Monsters!!

1st Event:
Several Sorins were pulled and used. Top 8 decided to split and there were less than 10 monsters total. For shame. Over 80 packs were given out along with the following: 2 playmats, 2 fat packs, 2 UP 9 pocket binders, 2 UP card box and 80 ct sleeves, 1 gift certificate, 2 UP 80 ct sleeves and deck box

2nd Event:
2 more Sorins entered the Magic circle during this event. 7 humans in all were turned by the original monsters. Still not very effective monsters. Im thinking these monsters need to go back to Monster School. Humans get a free drink and Monsters ate up a free snack when the event was over. Over 50 packs were snatched up by players. Randomly handed out were 2 playmats, 2 fat packs, 3 80ct sleeves with a deck box, 1 Magic Tshirt, and 1 UP 9 pocket binder.

3rd Event:
No Sorins or monsters in this event. What a sad day.
Still 20 Dark Ascension packs were used to liven up the humans day along with a UP 9 pocket binder, playmat, and 80ct sleeves with deck box.

All players received Foil Promo DCI cards and 2 punches on their NO FEE JUST FUN card

Thats right boys and girls Magic the Gathering Dark Ascension releases this Friday and we have more than enough to fill the need and desire.

NO FEE JUST FUN program provides boxes at $100.99 all day Friday.

As previously mentioned we rolling out the first addition to our NO FEE JUST FUN program for 2012.

For our FNM players we are adding the Kaboom King and Kaboom Jester. The King is overall winner each Friday night and the Jester is our bringer up of the rear. These two individuals will get a discount for the whole week on all purchases befitting their title.

Dark Ascension Prerelease sealed deck tournaments saturday Jan 28th @ 12noon and 6pm. We will be open at 11am. Sunday is possible depending on product allocation and turnout.

So Magic the Gathering was in full effect this weekend. Here are some of the juicy details.

Saturdays Commander:
We had Sharuum, Sliver Overlord, Scion, Kemba, Bosh, Arcum Dagsson, Sharuum, and Rubina. Pod 1 Winner: Jason Hammack with Kemba and 2nd place was Matt Wetherholt with Rubina. Pod 2 Winner: Josh Wienckowski with Arcum Dagsson and 2nd place was John Meyer with Sharuum. Overall winner for the afternoon was Jason Hammack.

Sunday Type II:
We had a good turnout for Sunday. (must be football haters) Top 4 decided to split so there was no clear cut winner for the day. The top 4 decks were Bant Agro played by Kevin Martin, Hunter Reckenberger used Blue/White Delver, Stefan Eversoll played Black/Blue Control, and Jack Fisher ran a Blue/White Illusions.
